Letting go...let them grow!

I was having mixed feelings when my two final year students came to see me today.  They were asking for my signature for enabling them to submit their hard-bound theses.  I am happy that my job is finally over, glad that they have grown up, but I am so sad to see them go.  Well, that is the process...more students will come next year, let these two students go and wander in their search for wisdom.  Chu Lie Yin and Rachel Toh Mun Shan, I wish you all the best.

Probably, this saying is the best in describing it...
“Learning to let go should be learned before learning to get. Life should be touched, not strangled. You've got to relax, let it happen at times, and at others move forward with it. It's like boats. You keep your motor on so you can steer with the current. And when you hear the sound of the waterfall coming nearer and nearer, tidy up the boat, put on your best tie and hat, and smoke a cigar right up till the moment you go over. That's a triumph.”
